Testflight iOS Debug Console
The Testflight build of the Bops iOS app includes a debug console that can help diagnose Sonos discovery, playback, grouping, queue, and subscription issues.
Open the debug console
- Open the Testflight app on the iPhone or iPad where the issue is happening and install the latest Bops beta build. Please reach out if you’re debugging an issue and don’t have access to the beta!
- Open Bops on the same device.
- Reproduce the issue in Bops if you can.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the Debug section.
- Tap the button to copy the debug console link to your clipboard.
- Paste the link into a web browser on the same device to open the debug console.
The link opens a page served by Bops on your local network. It usually looks like http://192.168.x.x:xxxx/. The page only works while Bops is running, and the link itself is not useful to send by email because it points to your device on your local network.
Depending on the issue you’re debugging, support may ask you for info from the “Debug JSON” or from logs visible on the page. Please see the instructions below for how to send that info.
Send Debug JSON to Support
- Tap “Copy Debug JSON” at the top of the page.
- Paste the copied JSON into your support email reply.
If your browser blocks clipboard access, the debug console will show the JSON in a selected text box so you can copy it manually.
Send logs to Support
- Copy any relevant logs from the “Logs” section of the page.
- Paste the logs into your support email reply.
If the page does not open
- Make sure Bops is still open.
- Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
Privacy
Debug JSON may include local Sonos state, local network addresses, playback metadata, recent Bops state, and diagnostic details about the selected Sonos group. Please review it before sending if you have privacy concerns.
