This release significantly improves playlist management, queue sync reliability, and the Now Playing experience, and adds support for managing Sonos favorites from Apple Music items.

New Features

Playlist management is now much more capable, with quick add flows for library playlists and support for editing and reordering Bops-created playlists.

  • Add songs to recent playlists faster, or add to multiple/new playlists from an expanded sheet.
  • Edit and reorder Bops-created playlists, including album-based reordering when the playlist contains complete albums.
  • Add an album or playlist collection to a playlist in one tap.
  • Add and remove Albums, Playlists, Stations, and Artist Stations in Sonos favorites.
  • Large playlists now load more items as you scroll, improving performance and usability.
  • Settings now shows app version details.

Bugfixes and Improvements

Queue sync and playback are more reliable, especially during background launches, queue restore, and in poor network conditions.

  • Prevent spurious queue syncs and notifications when launching in the background.
  • Save and restore the system queue when not connected to Sonos.
  • Fix artwork loading for the first system-player item.
  • Improve MusicKit item fetch performance on unreliable Wi-Fi.
  • Improve Now Playing sheet layout/animation and iPad full-screen presentation.
  • Improve transitions from static to animated artwork, including Now Playing album art.
  • Save Home, Browse, and Settings navigation state.
  • Improve connected device naming for Bluetooth playback clarity.
  • Ensure Now Playing works immediately after upgrading to Gold.
  • Improve efficiency of MusicKit artwork view rendering.
  • Add a workaround for view churn in the system volume slider.
